CFA Society in the UK - Eminent Speaker Lecture Series

A Few Near Certainties in Uncertain Times

Speaker: Jeremy Grantham

As we witness a level of market turbulence that has not been seen in recent times, Jeremy Grantham's lecture proves timely. As current events are proving there are very few certainties or near certainties and Jeremy will offer his views on:

  • Falling house prices globally
  • Falling profit margins
  • Rising risk premiums
  • The ultimate near certainty, the mean reversion of asset prices

Jeremy Grantham is Chairman of GMO and oversees quantitative products and investment strategies. He is also a member of the  The Pre executive committee. Before GMO’s founding in 1977, Mr Grantham was co-founder of Batterymarch Financial Management. Prior to helping found Batterymarch, he was a portfolio manager at Keystone Custodian Funds, a management consultant with Cresap McCormick & Paget, and an economist with Royal Dutch Shell. Mr Grantham earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Sheffield (UK) and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
