London Quant's new Chairman is Ed Fishwick
Ed announces two big changes to London Quant:
Evening Seminars are now free for all who attend. You will need to register beforehand, either online or by emailing. Numbers will be limited, so places allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Membership of London Quant is being simplified. From now on the fee for membership will be £1 per year and is included in the attendance fee for both Spring and Autumn Seminars, so you will see no difference for members and non-members.
If you are currently a member you will be entitled to a discount at the Spring and or Autumn Seminar until your existing membership runs out.
The next Evening Seminar will be announced shortly. The Spring Seminar will be on 14 May at the Royal Institution, Albemarle Street and the Autumn Seminar from 9 to 12 September at Magdalen College and the Eastgate Hotel in Oxford.
Leland's Lost Theorem
A prize is offered to the first LQG member to provide a proof or disproof of Leland's Lost Theorem:
The expected return of a portfolio comprising a bond and a vanilla call option is the highest of any unleveraged path-independent strategy, assuming the same level of downside protection.
LQG will award £100, which Jason MacQueen will personally match with £100, to give a total prize of £200. The winner will be announced on this site.

The London Quant Group is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of practical, quanitative investment ideas. It achieves this with a series of Evening Seminars in London together with a one and a half day Spring Seminar in London and a two and a half day Autumn Seminar in Oxford or Cambridge.
